Do you know what to do if you find yourself involved in an active shooter incident?
ARE YOU PREPARED?
The frequency of active shooter incidents has steadily increased over the last 17 years with no end in sight. As a result of increased public awareness, many citizens have asked what individuals can do to protect themselves and reduce the dangers faced during one of these events. Avoid | Deny |Defend™ has been developed as an easy to remember method for individuals to follow.
The Town of Cicero Police Department in conjunction with the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT)™ Program is proud to present the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events Course.
We are offering this training free of charge to businesses, community groups, and citizens living and working in the Cicero community. The full class is approximately 90 minutes in length. However, it can be shortened or elongated depending on your needs or time restrictions. Prior to providing the course material one of our certified instructors will meet with a representative from your business or group to tour your facility and review your active shooter response plan. If you do not have an active shooter response plan we can work with you to create one that will meet the needs of your organization ensuring that you are prepared. We will incorporate this response plan into our presentation to your staff or selected attendees.
If you have any questions or would like to us to present the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events Course to your organization, please email Sgt James Snell at Jasnell@ciceropd.us or call him at 315-699-3677 extension 257.
Next Course is Tuesday July 24th 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Cicero Police Department located at 6200 Route 31
